Wow! There was so much art shared and so much laughter and inspiration.

If anyone has photos or info you would like to add, please let me know and I'll update this summary.

We'll announce our February meeting location soon.

Below are pictures (and you know my photographic skills LOL) from the Cat Rains Collage Breakthrough classes. Although the photos are not in any particular order, the lessons progressed through creating a grid of 2" squares and filling them with 2 papers, then 3" squares filling them with 3 papers, then 4" squares filling them with 4 papers, then 4" squares with 4 papers and 1 finishing paper, then a 5" square using all the left over pieces of paper from the previous lessons.

Anne shared the pieces she made at a recent weavers' retreat - more WOW! The process for each piece was fascinating.

Those participating in the current challenge to remake something they didn't feel was a success or create something new from a favorite piece of art are making great progress. Natalie is remaking a fairly large quilt. Susan is adding hand stitching to a photo print of The Girl with the Pearl Earring (sorry forgot to get a shot of her re-composed print), Cindy created a multi-media work from a wide variety of components, hmmm seems like I forgot one more, if so, my apology.

Phyllis shared the collage she began at our collage meeting...another WOW.

Natalie honored us with the first showing of latest quilt in her Afghanistan series. We will ask her to tell us the story again at our next meeting. It's powerful.

Selene shared some layouts she's considering for her Whispers series and got some good feedback.
